Details
Alberta winters are the real test of a tag colour. Half the year the background is white, the light is flat, and the cattle are standing in a group at a bale feeder with their heads down. Orange is one of the few colours that stays legible under those conditions, which is why winter feeding operations lean on it. That makes it a strong choice for backgrounding cattle carried through from fall to spring, and for any group you will be checking daily from the seat of a tractor. Reading a number through a windshield at minus thirty is not a fair test of anything, but if a tag is going to manage it, orange gives you a fighting chance. Supplied as a complete run from 1 to 1000, factory printed, so a processing crew works straight out of the box. One-piece design with the self-piercing tip, no separate button to seat with cold hands, applied with the Z Tags one-piece applicator in the compact feedlot size. Management and visual identification is what these are for. They are not a substitute for an approved CCIA tag.
