Once an operation is buying tags a thousand at a time, one shade of a colour stops being enough. Rose gives you a second pink that reads as clearly different in the same pen, which matters when a single colour is already carrying a meaning you do not want to muddy. A common way to use it is by year within a category. If this year's heifer calves are in standard pink, last year's bred heifers can carry rose, and you can look down a pen and see two age groups without checking a single number. The same idea works for splitting an intake into two arrival groups that both belong to the same class of cattle. The tags come printed sequentially from 1 to 1000, so numbering is done before the box is opened. They are the one-piece Z Tags feedlot design in the compact size, with the self-piercing cutting tip and a single-squeeze application from the Z Tags one-piece applicator.
