Ordering a thousand numbers at once is a decision about labour more than anything. Nobody sits at a table writing tags, nobody guesses at somebody else's handwriting in an alley, and the sequence cannot double up because two people were working out of different bags. Black is the colour to pick when you want your cattle distinguishable from everyone else's. In a commingled backgrounding pen or a custom lot, almost nothing else is running black tags, so a glance down a bunk line tells you which animals belong to your set before you have read a single digit. It is a deliberate choice rather than a default one. These are one-piece feedlot tags in the compact Z Tags size, with the self-piercing cutting tip and no separate button to seat, applied with the Z Tags one-piece applicator. The numbering is factory printed and reads from front and back. Work through the boxes in order so your pen sheets and your tags agree.
