Details
Anyone running a year-colour rotation eventually hits the same wall. You want a colour for this calf crop that will not be confused with the one two years ago that is still walking around in the cow herd, and the obvious shades are already spoken for. Turquoise fills that gap because it is unmistakably its own colour rather than a lighter version of somebody else's. Year coding is worth the discipline. Ten seconds glancing at a pen tells you the age spread without catching a single animal, and when you are deciding which cows to keep another winter, knowing age at a glance is most of the argument. Turquoise also sits well against black, red and roan hides, so it stays legible across a mixed commercial herd rather than working on some cattle and vanishing on others. These are the one-piece Z Tags feedlot size, small enough to stay clear of bunk rails and brush, with a self-piercing tip and a single-squeeze application from the Z Tags one-piece applicator. Fifty blank tags per bag. Bear in mind these are management and visual identification tags, not a substitute for an approved CCIA tag.
