Calving does not happen evenly. On most places there is a front end that comes in a rush and a tail end that trickles in over the following weeks, and by fall those two groups want handling differently. Peach is a useful way to mark that split at the time it happens. Tag the late calves as they come and you have a permanent record of the calving spread walking around in front of you. At weaning it explains the lighter end of the pen without anybody arguing about it, and when you are picking replacement heifers it tells you which ones came from cows that bred back promptly. That is real information, and it costs nothing but the discipline of grabbing a different bag after a certain date. Being a lighter orange, peach separates plainly from true orange in the same pen while staying easy on the eye in dry grass. The tags are Z Tags one-piece feedlot stock, compact, self-piercing, fifty blank per bag, numbered with a tag marker and set with the Z Tags one-piece applicator. These are management and visual identification tags and are not a substitute for an approved CCIA tag.
