A fifty pack is the size you want when the job is one pen, not a whole intake. Plenty of operations buy the stamped thousand runs for the main receiving days and keep a few bags of blanks like this on hand for the loads that show up short, the strays, and the animals whose tag came out somewhere in the corral. Blue reads cleanly against black and red hides and holds its own in a yard under lights. It also stays well separated from the reds and pinks most people reserve for treatments, so a blue tag does not accidentally say something you did not mean it to say. These are the feedlot pattern, a shorter and lighter tag than the cow tags, made for a feeding period rather than years in the ear. Blank on both sides, so the number goes on with a marker at the chute or ahead of time on the tailgate. One piece with the piercing tip built into the point, applied in a single squeeze with no button to line up. These are management and visual identification tags. They are not a substitute for an approved CCIA tag.
