Details
On a small tag there is not much room, so legibility comes down to contrast. White gives marker the cleanest background of anything here, and on a flag this size that is the difference between reading a number across the pen and having to catch the animal to find out who it is. The small animal flag runs roughly two and three-eighths by one and three-quarters inches, sized for a ewe, doe, lamb or kid rather than a cow. Fifty blank tags to a bag, numbering left to you. The obvious caution is that white does not stand out against wool or snow, so it is a poor choice if the plan is to spot a marked animal at distance. Use it where the number matters more than the colour code. The one-piece design applies with a single squeeze, the point of the tag is the piercing tip, there is no button, and nothing sits behind the ear afterward. These are management and visual identification tags. They are not a substitute for an approved traceability tag.
