Pink feedlot tags stamped 1 through 1000, a clear colour for splitting heifers from steers or marking one intake group.
Details
Splitting a mixed load by sex is one of the first jobs at receiving, and colour does it faster than any number can. Pink on the heifers means the sort holds after they are penned and the paperwork is put away, and anyone new on the crew can follow it without being told twice. The tags come stamped one through a thousand in sequence, so the number side of the job is handled for you. Pull the next tag, read it out, write it down, move the animal along. That rhythm is what gets a big day finished. Pink stays legible against black, red and white hair, and it does not get confused with the reds most yards keep for treatment or the yellows and oranges used as general pen colours. These are the lighter feedlot pattern tag, one piece with a self-piercing point, applied in a single squeeze with no button to load. These are management and visual identification tags. They are not a substitute for an approved CCIA tag.
