Details
Chartreuse is the colour you can read from furthest away, which is what you want when you are counting a pen from outside the fence instead of walking in among them. Under yard lights it stays bright where softer shades flatten right out. The set runs one through a thousand in order, stamped at the factory. That kind of range is meant for volume: a full run of backgrounders, a set of yearlings arriving over several days, or a custom feeding operation that needs every head carrying a unique number without anybody writing anything. These are the feedlot pattern, a smaller and lighter tag than the mature cow tags, intended for identification over a feeding period rather than years in the ear. Application is one-piece and self-piercing. The tag makes its own hole as the applicator closes, so a processing crew is not loading buttons between animals. These are management and visual identification tags. They are not a substitute for an approved CCIA tag.
