Pre-printed tags save you the marker work and, more to the point, save you your own handwriting. Factory numbering is consistent from tag to tag and stays crisp longer than ink does over a winter, which can be the difference between reading a cow at fifty feet and running her in to find out who she is. These are the mature cow size, a large flag meant for cows and bulls rather than young calves, and they come twenty-five to a package. Printed tags suit an outfit with a settled system, where a block of numbers gets assigned to a group and stays assigned rather than being decided at the chute. The tag itself is the same one-piece design as the blanks. The point of the tag is the piercing tip, so it makes its own hole as the applicator closes, and there is no back button to align or drop in the dirt. These are management and visual identification tags. They are not a substitute for an approved CCIA tag.
