White gives you the highest contrast behind a dark stamped number, so if the whole point of the tag is being able to read it from the far side of a pen or from the truck, this is the one to start with. It also works as a neutral main-herd colour with brighter tags reserved for animals you are flagging. The set comes stamped in sequence out of the 1 to 200 range. No evening spent writing tags, no marker fading off after a winter of rubbing on a bale feeder. Pull them in order, tag in order, and record as you go. These are Z1 one-piece tags with no male button and no back piece to snag. The self-piercing tip cuts a small clean hole that closes in around the stem, and the pivoting applicator pin keeps the ear from being pinned flat while the tag goes through.
