Distance is the whole argument for a large tag. Four and three quarter inches by three and three eighths overall with a writing panel of two and three quarters by three inches, the 4-Star gives you room for a big number laid out in strokes thick enough to read from the far side of a quarter section without reaching for binoculars. That matters most on mature cows and bulls, on seedstock where visitors need to match an animal to a catalogue page, and on any outfit checking pairs from a truck window rather than on foot. Each bag holds twenty-five complete sets, male and female, moulded in Y-Tex's polyurethane with a ribbed neck and a Snap-Lok collar joining the two halves. Apply with a Y-Tex UltraTagger. The trade-off is honest: a big tag is a bigger target for brush, headlocks and other cattle, so it earns its place on cows in open country more than on calves headed through a bush pasture. Blank leaves the numbering system to you. These serve as management and visual identification tags and are not a substitute for an approved CCIA tag.
