Depth is the quiet difference between the big oval tanks. This one shares roughly the same footprint as the 160 gallon, about 147 by 102 cm (58 by 40 in), but the wall stands 61 cm (24 in) instead of 53, and that extra bit of height is where the additional 75 litres live. Worth knowing if you are fitting a tank into an existing frame or through a panel gap. Capacity is 681 L (180 US gallons), with a moulded drain plug in the base. For a larger group, or for a paddock you can only get water to every second day, that is the reason to size up rather than adding a second tank and a second thing to check. The taller wall does mean it is not the tank for calves or small stock, since they cannot reach comfortably and a deep tank is a real hazard for anything that goes in after a drink. Pair it with something shallow if you are running mixed ages. Check that the ground under it is level and stays level. On a full tank there is close to 700 kg sitting on the base, and a soft spot will let one end settle until the drain no longer sits at the low point.
