Details
The openings on this net run about 5 cm square, roughly two inches. That is the middle ground in hay nets: big enough that a horse gets a proper mouthful and doesn't get frustrated, small enough that hay isn't simply pulled out in armfuls and dropped on the ground. Compared with the tighter 3 cm mesh, it fills faster because the openings are easier to work hay into, and it still cuts down the amount of hay that ends up trampled, blown into the fence line, or frozen into the mud by morning. Use it in a stall, off a fence, in a trailer, or dropped into a feed tub to keep hay contained. Red, which is easy to spot in a snowy pen - hay nets get set down and lost more often than anything else in a barn.
