Details
This is a small-mesh hay net, roughly 3 cm by 3 cm through the openings. That size is deliberately tight - a horse can only pull a few strands at a time, so a flake that would be gone in twenty minutes on the ground instead lasts for hours. That matters on a western Canadian acreage. Slower intake means less hay trampled into mud or blown across the paddock on a windy day, and horses that aren't standing empty for long stretches between feedings, which is easier on easy keepers and on stalled horses alike. This version comes without a ring, so you fill it and tie it shut by hand rather than working around a fixed hoop. Hang it from a tie ring, a stall bar, a fence post, or drop it inside a feeder. One note worth passing along: tight mesh and shod horses don't always get along, so check the fit of your horse's shoes before hanging a small-mesh net in a pen. Blue.
