This is the replacement adapter valve for Tuff Stuff's calf feeder bucket, sold as a service part so a worn component doesn't cost you the whole feeder. The valve is the fitting that sits behind the teat and meters flow. It takes the abuse - calves butt and pull hard at a feeder, and warm milk plus repeated washing is hard on any small moulded fitting. Once a valve starts leaking or lets milk run too freely, the calf either wastes feed or drinks faster than it should, and neither is what you want with a young animal. Keeping a spare valve and a spare teat on the shelf is cheap insurance during calving. Nothing about a spring in Alberta guarantees you a trip to town on the day a part fails, and a feeder bucket that won't hold milk is no help at two in the morning.
