Tru-Test WP600 Platform
A 610 by 1830 mm (24 by 72 in) weigh platform with a treated wood deck on a steel frame, a lower-cost option for smaller herds on MP600 load bars.
Details
Not every yard weighs enough cattle to justify an aluminum platform. For a smaller herd, or for weighing a few times a year rather than a few times a week, a wood-decked platform does the same job for less outlay and takes the knocks without anyone worrying about it. The WP600 is 610 by 1830 mm (24 by 72 in), a treated wood floor on a steel frame, weighing about 41 kg (91 lb). It sits low with no sides and no sharp edges, so cattle walk on rather than climb, and the wood surface gives decent footing wet or dry. It carries a one-year warranty. It is built for MP600 load bars and is commonly bought alongside the S3 weigh system, giving 2000 kg (4400 lb) of capacity. That covers cows, yearlings and calves in most commercial operations. The shorter 1830 mm deck, against 2220 mm on the AP600, also makes it easier to fit into a short alley or a pen corner. Wood needs a little more care than aluminum. Store it under cover between uses rather than leaving it out in the snow, keep manure cleaned off so the timber can dry, and set it on firm level ground so the frame is not carrying a twist while it weighs.
