Tru-Test Farm Node Fence Monitoring System
A solar-powered fence node that measures line voltage up to 12,000 V and reports it back to a Tru-Test farm gateway by radio, with no wiring to run.
Details
One reading at the energizer tells you the fence was fine when you left the shed. It says nothing about the section behind the far bluff where a tree came down overnight. Nodes put a meter on the parts of the system nobody can see from the yard. Each node connects to the fence line and measures up to 12,000 V, sending readings by radio back to the farm gateway from as far as 500 m (1640 ft) with clear line of sight. It runs on its own solar panel, so there are no batteries to change and no wiring to run out to it, and the housing is weatherproof and UV stabilized for permanent outdoor life. The system scales to 50 nodes on one gateway, which is what makes monitoring by section practical. Put one at the far end of each major run rather than clustering them near the energizer. A node at the end of a line tells you whether the whole run is carrying voltage, and comparing two nodes on either side of a fault narrows the search to a span instead of a quarter section. Readings and alerts land in the Datamars Livestock farm management app, with history stored so a fence slowly declining is visible long before it fails outright. Nodes work with any brand of energizer and need a gateway to report through.
