The question that decides between the two portable bar sizes is what the heaviest animal in the yard weighs, not what the average one does. A 2000 kg pair sounds ample until a bull steps on, and a load bar asked to work at the top of its range is a load bar that will not last. MP800 bars carry 3000 kg (6600 lb) across the pair and run 810 mm (32 in) long, which is what lets them span the wider AP800 platform. Construction is the same galvanized housing and rubber-footed design as the smaller bars, fully water resistant, with system accuracy of plus or minus 1 per cent or two resolution steps, whichever is greater, and a two-year warranty. The pairing is specific. MP800 bars are drilled for the AP800, the 865 mm (34 in) wide platform, while MP600 bars go under the AP600. Swapping them around does not work, so decide platform and bars together. Once wired, any Tru-Test indicator reads them with no calibration required. Like the rest of the MP series these are portable bars for platforms, alleyways, crates and cages, not for mounting under a squeeze chute. Set them on firm level ground, confirm all four feet are carrying, and lift them off the platform for storage rather than leaving them out through winter.
