Details
Most operations do not need a chute-mounted scale. They need something that can be set up in an alley when the calves come in, used for a day, and stacked back in the shop. MP600 bars are that scale, and they are the bars most Tru-Test portable systems are built around. The pair carries 2000 kg (4400 lb) and each bar is 585 mm (23 in) long, in a galvanized housing with rubber feet that grip and take some of the shock out of an animal jumping on. System accuracy is plus or minus 1 per cent or two resolution steps, whichever is greater. They are fully water resistant and carry a two-year warranty. For platform work they are drilled to suit the AP600, the 610 mm (24 in) wide alleyway platform, and they also sit under the WP600 and the small animal platform. They will not fit the AP800, which is drilled for the longer MP800 bars. Any Tru-Test indicator reads them without calibration. What they are not built for is a squeeze chute. Bolting portable bars under a chute puts side loading into them that they were never designed to take. Set them on a firm level surface, keep the platform clear of anything it can rub against, and they will hold their calibration for years.
