Gate handles get replaced more often than anything else on an electric fence, usually because the shank corrodes inside the grip or the plastic splits where the metal enters it. A one-piece moulding removes the seam that lets water in. The Zammr has a stainless steel backbone with the insulation over-moulded onto it in a single piece, so the covering is continuous down the length of the handle and there is no joint to open up. Speedrite lists it as part 824115, in white. Two hooks come with it, and that is the part worth understanding. The live hook connects the gate to a live wire or tape, which is what you want on a temporary fence where the whole line is hot. The insulated hook lets you close the gate without carrying current across it, which is how a permanent fence section runs off a portable energizer without energizing everything downstream. Switching between the two needs no change of hardware. That flexibility is why one handle covers both a temporary paddock division and a permanent gateway. Hang it so the hook points down, and anchor the far end on an insulated gate anchor rather than a nail or a staple.
