This is the tool that turns fence fault-finding from a day of walking into an hour of driving. It reads voltage and current at any point on the line and shows the direction the current is flowing, so you follow the current toward the fault rather than guessing. The backlit display shows the reading alongside the previous one for comparison, and there is an audible current indicator for when you are not looking at the screen. The remote half is the part people underestimate. Being able to switch a compatible energizer off from the far end of the fence means you are not driving back to the shed twice for every repair, and you are not tempted to work on a live wire. It detects energizer polarity automatically. On a large western operation with fence lines running out of sight, this pays for itself the first time a fault takes out the far pasture. The case is water resistant and rugged, it clips to a belt, and it runs on a replaceable 9V with a low-battery warning. Fault finding works with all energizers, but the remote switching function requires a Speedrite compatible energizer, so check your model before relying on that half. Warranty is one year.
