Speedrite polywire 1650' - white

Details
Standard polywire is what most temporary fencing runs on. Six stainless steel filaments woven through UV-stabilized polyethylene, three millimetres across, white so stock can see it. Resistance is high compared to copper wire, in the order of 1,900 ohms per thousand feet, which is the trade-off for the price. That resistance is the thing to understand before you buy. On a short back fence or a strip line of a few hundred feet it is irrelevant. On a half mile run off a small energizer, most of your voltage is gone before the far end, and the fence stops holding stock without ever looking broken. The way to find out is to test at the far end of the run, not at the terminals. The 1,650 foot roll is the size for filling a reel or two and having some in reserve. Keep it on a reel rather than a coil, join it with clamps rather than knots, and keep it up off the ground where snow will not load and stretch it. Under normal use, expect around five years before UV catches up with it.
