Speedrite pigtail tread-in - 34" (10 pack)
Ten 34-inch pigtail tread-in posts, the standard portable post for setting temporary grazing lines quickly on foot.
Details
A tread-in post is the fastest fence there is. Step on the foot plate, the post goes in, hook the wire in the pigtail, and move on. Ten to a bundle is a working set, and most people carry a bundle in the truck through the grazing season and go through them steadily. At 34 inches these are the general-purpose height, suitable for a single or double wire on cattle and for temporary horse lines. The pigtail top holds polywire without a separate insulator and lets you lift the wire out and drop it back in without unthreading anything, which is the whole point when you are shifting a line every day. The honest limitation in this country is ground condition. In dry summer soil, or once frost is in, a tread-in will not go without help, so keep a bar for pilot holes and use a heavier post at the corners. They are not for tensioned lines either. Use them between properly braced ends and let the ends take the load. Pull them before freeze-up if you can, since a post frozen in and then yanked is a bent post.
