On a large energizer the output module is the section that takes the stored energy and switches it onto the fence. It is also the part most exposed to whatever comes back up the wire, which is why it is a common casualty of lightning and heavy fence faults. Symptoms of an output stage problem tend to be a unit that powers up, shows a reading, and puts little or nothing onto the fence, or one that pulses weakly regardless of what the fence is doing. Before condemning the module, rule out the obvious: a dead short on the line, a failed ground bed, or a disconnected lead-out will all mimic it. This module is specific to the 36000RS and is not shared with the smaller units. Speedrite does not publish serial-level fitment for internal assemblies, so confirm against your unit's model and serial plate before ordering. Work on the energizer unplugged with the capacitors fully discharged, or send it in. A large mains energizer holds enough stored energy to hurt you well after it is switched off.
