Speedrite fence alert
A fence-mounted warning light that starts flashing when line voltage drops below a preset trigger, visible from up to 1.5 km away.
Details
The Fence Alert connects to the live wire and does one job: it tells you the fence is down before the cattle do. When voltage falls below the selected trigger point it starts flashing, and the flash is visible up to 1.5 km away. Two preset voltage triggers let you set it for the standard you actually hold on that fence. It needs no ground wire and no external power. Battery life is quoted at five years on standby, or up to two weeks of continuous flashing, and the battery is replaceable. The case is impact and water resistant, which matters on a fence that spends half the year under snow and the other half getting hit by hail. The best place for one is where you can see it without leaving the yard or the truck: the corner nearest the driveway, the top of a rise, the end of a lane. On remote pasture it will not tell you which span failed, but it will tell you to go look, and that is usually a day or two earlier than you would have found out otherwise. It works with any energizer.
