A bungy gate is the simplest answer to an electrified gateway. This kit covers openings from 11 feet (3.5 m) to 23 feet (7 m) and includes the bungy cord, an insulated handle, a wood post pinlock insulator, a gate anchor and a high-visibility flag. The cord carries stainless steel strands through the elastic, so it conducts while it stretches. That is the point of the design: an ordinary wire gate has to be slack enough to unhook and tight enough not to lie on the ground, and it never manages both. A bungy gate pulls itself back tight every time you close it, which means no sagging wire in the mud and no shorting out on wet grass. The flag makes the gateway visible to stock and to anyone driving through in poor light or blowing snow. Install the pinlock insulator on the wood post one side, set the anchor on the other, and hook the handle. Always take hold of the insulated handle, not the cord. Bungy cords do lose elasticity eventually, particularly on a gate that is opened several times a day, so check the tension occasionally — a stretched-out gate cord dragging on the ground is a fence fault, not just an inconvenience.
