A 5 mL dose empties a bottle quickly, and that is exactly when a bottle-mounted gun becomes a nuisance, because you are stopping to change bottles with a needle in your other hand. Feeding the gun from a tube means the bottle can be a large one, sitting in a holster or on the rail, and changed on your own terms. The dose is variable from 0.5 to 5 mL, set in 0.5 mL increments. This is the compact body, the shorter and lighter of the two Simcro patterns, and the trade is fewer adjustments than the premium range in exchange for less to go wrong. Weight or clip the tube pickup so it stays below the surface, and prime the line until no air comes through the needle. Strip and flush the barrel and the tube with warm water when the job is done, and dry the parts before reassembly. What you run through it and at what dose is for your veterinarian and the product label to settle.
