Most of the trouble with a bottle-mount gun shows up halfway through a run, when the dose has drifted, or the operator has stopped trusting it and is holding animals longer than needed. This one is built around a dose collar that indexes in firm 0.1 mL steps from 0.1 up to 2 mL, so a setting can be found by feel and confirmed by eye without stopping the line. The forward selectable action is the other half of it. The plunger stroke starts at the front of the barrel and displaces the whole barrel volume regardless of what the dial is set to, which means air that finds its way in is expelled instead of sitting there absorbing part of every stroke. The bottle mounts on the gun itself, and the barrel angle can be adjusted so the bottle hangs where it suits your grip. Prime and purge before you start, and keep an eye on the bottle collar staying tight as it warms up in the sun. At the end of the day the barrel comes apart for a warm-water flush, and O-rings and barrels are available separately when the seal starts to weep. Dose decisions and product choice belong with your veterinarian and the product label.
