Working through a pen, the hardest thing to keep track of is which animals have already been done. Tallying in your head fails, and going back over the same animal is worse than missing one. The ink stamp fits the VS injector and leaves a visible mark on the hide around the injection site as the shot is delivered, so the record is made on the animal at the moment of treatment rather than reconstructed afterwards. These are supplied five to a pack and fit the VS injector handle assembly. They do not fit the Premium, Compact, Optimiser or Sekurus bodies, because the ink stamp is a VS accessory and mounts only to that system. Being able to see who has been done also makes the second person on the crew more useful, since they can sort on sight instead of asking. Stamps are consumables. The pad wears, dries out and eventually stops laying a clear mark, which is why they come as a multipack. Keep spares in the kit rather than trying to nurse a tired one through a run. Wipe the stamp when you clean the gun, and store it out of the sun where it will not dry out between jobs.
