On a small dose the injection is over almost before it starts, which is exactly why placement goes wrong. There is no time to correct once the needle is in. The self-tenting guard changes the sequence. The spiked guard takes hold of the skin and lifts a fold before the needle moves at all, and the two-stage trigger keeps it that way until you are ready. At 2 mL this is the small end of the Sekurus tube-fed range, offered either as a fixed 2 mL dose or selectable from 0.5 to 2 mL in 0.5 mL steps, so check which build you have because the collar looks similar either way. Being tube fed, the bottle stays off the gun, which matters more on small stock where the handpiece is worked in close and a bottle on top would be in the way. Keep the guard spikes clean. Dried product on them means they skate on the hide instead of gripping, and the tenting stops working. Warm water through the barrel and tube at the end of use, and dry the parts before reassembly. Route, product and dose are decisions for your veterinarian, guided by the label.
