Pour-on work is a rhythm job. You are moving along a line, laying a measured stripe down each back, and anything that interrupts the refill breaks the rhythm and slows the whole crew. The SoftLock valve in this applicator is aimed squarely at that, letting the barrel fill quickly between animals rather than making you wait on it. Capacity runs to 70 mL, set with a Dial-A-Dose selector that has a smooth, positive action. The offset barrel outlet is a design detail that makes the gun easier to prime, and the shower nozzle is shaped so the squeeze stays light through a long shift. Fan-tip nozzles are made for this range as well, which change the width of the stripe the gun lays down. It is built for cattle and sheep. It feeds from a tube, so keep the pickup submerged and prime until the line runs clear of air before the first animal. Pour-on products are hard on seals, so flush the barrel and tube with warm water at the end of the day, and check the nozzle for a partial blockage if the pattern starts to wander. Product choice and dose are matters for your veterinarian and the label.
