Plastic drenchers do not survive being stood on, dropped off a rail or left in a truck box through a Prairie winter. This one is built with a metal body around a chemical-resistant cylinder, which is the reason it turns up on operations where the same gun has been in use for years. Dose adjusts from 1 to 20 mL in 1 mL steps, read against moulded graduations on the cylinder rather than a printed scale that wears off. High-flow, blockage-resistant valves keep the refill quick at the top of that range. It ships with a 100 mm (4 in) sheep nozzle, a 150 mm (6 in) cattle nozzle and tubing, plus an injector attachment, so one tool covers oral dosing on two very different sized mouths as well as injected work. Change nozzles with the barrel empty and primed, and check the nozzle is seated before it goes near the animal. Flush the barrel, valves and tube through with warm water afterwards, since the valves are where residue builds up first and where a sticky refill starts. Ask your veterinarian which route and which product suit the animals you are working, and follow the label.
