Details
Ortho Ant B Gon Max Ant Traps is a domestic-class ant bait registered with Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency by Scotts Canada Ltd. under PCP Registration No. 23372. The label's guarantee reads "Borax .............................. 5.0%". The registration covers trap packages from 5 g to 70 g; this listing is the 10-pack package, ten traps of 5 g each (50 g in total). These are baits, not a contact spray. The label describes how they work: "Ants enter traps and carry food back to nest to feed colony." The package states "KILLS ANTS" and "HELPS DESTROY ENTIRE COLONY". Because the ants have to find the bait and carry it back to the nest, the traps are left in place and undisturbed rather than aimed at the ants you can see. Directions, quoted from the label: "Place traps 1.5 - 3 m apart where ants are numerous." and "Place traps where ants enter dwelling, near ant hills in the lawn or garden 5 metres apart." - so the registration covers placement both inside the dwelling and outdoors in the lawn or garden. "Replace traps as needed." The label also says "Do not remove lid of container." and "Do not remove trap lid." Read the full label before use and follow it. Precautions, quoted from the label: "KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS." "Use only in areas inaccessible to children and pets." "AVOID contamination of feed and foodstuffs." "Warning, contains the allergen peanut butter." First aid: "If swallowed, call a poison control centre or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control centre or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Take container, label or product name and Pest Control Product Registration Number with you when seeking medical attention." Toxicological information: "Treat symptomatically." Disposal: "Wrap used container in newspaper and discard with household garbage."
