Full, this is better than twenty seven kilograms. You are not carrying it anywhere and you are certainly not turning it over, which is exactly why the top fill design exists. It gets set once, filled with a hose, and left alone. One fill covers a full flock through a hot day. The sealed reservoir gravity feeds the trough and holds a steady drinking level with no float or valve to fail, the same as the smaller sizes in the range. Put it on a platform or on genuinely level ground before you fill it. Seven gallons sitting slightly off level wastes water out the low side of the trough continuously, and at this capacity you will not notice until it runs empty a day early. Cap, handle, plug and o-ring are all available separately. On a fountain this size those small parts are what you will actually be replacing over its working life.
