Details
Anything sitting on the floor of a coop ends up full of bedding. Birds scratch, shavings fly, and by evening the water has a layer of litter in it and the feed has droppings in it. Getting the container up off the floor solves most of that without changing anything else about your setup. The height also puts the trough closer to the level birds naturally feed at, which means less feed flicked over the edge. Cleaner water, less wasted feed, and considerably less time spent dumping and rinsing fouled containers. Works with Millside fountains and feeders and with most standard poultry equipment, so it is not tied to one product line. Set it on level ground, because a platform that rocks defeats the purpose with a full fountain on top of it. Sixty seven dollars is real money for something that just holds things up. It pays for itself in feed you are not sweeping off the floor, and it is one of those purchases people wish they had made two flocks earlier.
