Cohesive bandage sticks to itself and to nothing else, which is exactly what you want on an animal. It goes on over a dressing without tape, it does not pull hair when it comes off, and you can tear it to length by hand instead of hunting for scissors with one hand already full of leg. Four inches wide by five yards is the general-purpose size for cattle and horses. It is the roll that ends up in the calving kit, the horse trailer, the vet box and the glove box, and it is worth having several, because a wrap that looked generous at the start of a job never is. It is a wrapping material, not a treatment. The wound, the tension of the wrap and how long anything stays on are questions for your veterinarian, and a wrap put on too tight can do more damage than the original injury. Keep rolls in their wrapper and out of the dirt until they are needed, and keep them somewhere they will not freeze, because cold makes the roll stiff in exactly the weather you need it.
