A nose weaner takes the nursing out of weaning without taking the cow away. It sits in the nose of the calf and the inward-facing spikes discourage the cow from standing to let it suck, while the calf still grazes and drinks normally. The pairs stay together, which is the whole idea, and by the time you separate them the calf has already learned to make a living off grass and feed. Fifty to a bag is a herd quantity.
