A slip tip is a friction fit: the needle hub pushes straight on and pulls straight off. No threading, no quarter turn, which is the whole reason people choose slip over lock. When you are changing needles frequently and working in gloves, that saved second and a half per animal adds up over a long morning. At 3ml the barrel is short and the graduations are spread out over a small volume, so you can actually see fractions of a millilitre. That makes it the size for small stock, young calves and anything where the amount genuinely matters. Clear polypropylene barrel, large graduations, latex free, sterile and single use in tamper-evident packaging. The trade-off is holding power. A push-on needle can work loose or come off under back pressure or if an animal moves hard, and it is worth seating it firmly with a deliberate push rather than a tap. On a small barrel there is less force behind the plunger than on a big one, so the risk is lower here than it would be on a 35 or a 60. Use once, bin the whole thing in a sharps container.
