This is a long, fine needle. The inch and a half is there to reach depth; the 18 gauge is there to keep the hole small and the tissue trauma down. It suits thinner fluids where a narrow lumen is not fighting you, on animals that need the reach but do not need the bore. The cannula is regular-wall stainless, the tip is computer ground and tri-bevelled with anti-coring geometry, and the aluminum hub is ISO colour coded so the gauge reads at a glance. Cartridges are tamper evident. Sterile, one use. Length and fineness together mean this needle wants a still animal. A long thin shaft is the easiest one in the drawer to bend, and once it is bent it is done, no matter how straight you get it looking. Restrain properly, work steadily rather than fast, and expect to go through more of them on a cold day when hide is tight and cattle are jumpy. Bin every used needle in a sharps container and take product questions to your veterinarian or the label.
