Details
Three millilitres is the small end of the range and the size you reach for when accuracy matters more than speed. The graduations are spread over a short barrel, so you can see a fraction of a millilitre properly instead of eyeballing it against a big scale. Calves, small stock and anything where the amount is genuinely small. The tip is luer lock, meaning the needle threads on and stays on. That is the difference that counts at a chute: a slip tip can pop off under back pressure or when an animal moves, and a locked hub will not. The barrel is clear polypropylene with large, easy-to-read graduations, the whole thing is latex free, and it is sterile and single use in tamper-evident packaging. Small syringes take more pressure to push through a fine needle than people expect, and cold thickens things up, so give yourself room to work rather than fighting it one-handed on the headgate. Use it once and bin it in a sharps container with the needle still locked on. What goes in the barrel and how much of it is a question for your veterinarian or the product label.
