Ideal luer lock syringe 20ml
Sterile single-use 20ml syringe with a luer lock tip and clear polypropylene barrel, sized for larger single doses in mature cattle.
Details
Twenty millilitres moves you into mature cattle territory. It is a two-hand syringe for most people once it is full, and it holds enough that you are not stopping to redraw partway through a job on a grown cow. The luer lock tip is not optional at this volume as far as most operators are concerned. A full 20ml barrel puts real pressure behind the tip, and a friction-fit needle can separate at exactly the wrong moment. Threading it on keeps the needle where you put it. The barrel is clear polypropylene with large graduations so you can see what is left at a glance, latex free, sterile and single use in tamper-evident packaging. Drawing 20ml is where a stiff or dry plunger really shows up, and cold makes it worse. Pull steadily rather than yanking, and keep the tip clean between draws. Change needles regularly through a group even though you are keeping the same syringe for the moment, and bin the whole unit in a sharps container when you are done. Route, site and dose come from your veterinarian or the label.
