Ideal luer lock syringe 12ml
Sterile single-use 12ml syringe with a luer lock tip and clear polypropylene barrel, a common working size for cattle.
Details
Twelve millilitres is a general cattle size. It holds enough for most single-animal jobs on grown stock without becoming awkward to control one-handed, and the graduations are far enough apart to read across a headgate in poor light. The tip is luer lock. On a bigger barrel that matters more than it does on a small one: there is more force behind the plunger and more chance of an animal moving, and a threaded hub will not blow off the way a slip tip can. The barrel is clear polypropylene with large graduations, latex free, sterile and single use in tamper-evident packaging. In cold weather this is where people notice the difference between a good barrel and a poor one. A stiff plunger in a 12ml syringe with a thumb full of glove is genuinely hard to control. Warm the syringe in a pocket rather than forcing it, keep everything clean, change needles between animals, and put the used unit into a sharps container whole. Anything to do with what you are giving, how much or where belongs with your veterinarian or the product label.
