Details
Twenty gauge is the fine end of the livestock range: small volumes, thin fluids, small hole. Sheep, goats and small pigs are the usual customers rather than anything coming through a cattle chute. A fine needle is by nature the easiest to bend, so the thick-wall D3 construction is doing more work here than it does in the heavier gauges. If a needle does break, the D3 design is made to be detected by x-ray or magnetic technology at line speed. The hub is brass with the gauge stamped into the metal, and the needles come in red cartridges with ISO colour-coded, tamper-evident seals so detectable stock never gets confused with standard needles on the shelf. Disposable, 100 to the box. Fine needles let you know when they are wrong for the job. If the plunger fights you and the barrel flexes, the bore is too small for what you are moving. Hold small stock properly, work at a steady pace, change needles rather than reusing them, and keep a sharps container at hand. Product-specific questions are for your veterinarian.
