Details
Twenty gauge is the fine end of the livestock range. The narrow bore means small volumes and thin fluids only, and the payoff is a very small hole and minimal tissue disturbance. Sheep, goats, small pigs and companion animals are where these earn their keep, not the cow chute. The cannula is regular-wall stainless with a tri-bevelled, anti-coring tip ground for consistency, and the hub is aluminum, colour coded to the ISO standard. The cartridge is tamper evident. Sterile, single use, 100 per box. Fine needles reward patience. Push anything thick through a 20 and you will feel the plunger fight you and see the barrel flex; that is the needle telling you it is the wrong size for the job. At one inch there is enough shaft to bend if an animal moves hard, so hold your stock properly and work at a sensible pace. Change needles regularly, dispose of them in a sharps container, and take anything to do with the substance itself to your veterinarian or the product label.
