Details
An oval tank fits where a round one will not. Along a fence line, tight against a barn wall, in the corner of a pen where a round tub either sticks out into the traffic or holds too little to be worth filling. The shape is what makes those spots usable. It holds 50 gallons, roughly 189 L, and measures about 104 cm long by 76 cm wide by 38 cm high (41 by 30 by 15 inches). The body is moulded from 100% recycled low-density polyethylene, so it flexes with ice rather than splitting and there is nothing on it to rust. The low wall suits calves, sheep, goats and foals. Note that this model comes without a drain plug, so it is emptied by tipping. Empty it ahead of a hard freeze if it will not be in daily use, and site it where it picks up some afternoon shade in summer. Sun is what grows algae in a tank and what ages the poly. One person can tip and rinse a tank this size, which is the main reason the ones this size actually get scrubbed.
