Body clipping takes the coat off and leaves the skin exposed and dry, and dandruff turns up in the weeks that follow. That is the job this oil was made for. No. 2 is the heavy end of the range: a thick conditioning oil that puts oils back into skin, coat, mane and tail. Groomers use it after body clipping to condition the skin, deal with dandruff and bring the natural colour back into the hair. It can be applied cold or warmed first, which makes it easier to spread and helps it soak in. Work it in, then blanket the horse. Body heat under the blanket carries the oil further into the skin than surface application alone. Leave it to work rather than washing it straight back out. For everyday conditioning and detangling, the lighter No. 1 Oil is the one to reach for. Keep this one for the horses that need the full treatment.
