A clipped or winter-worn coat looks flat because the skin under it is dry, and no amount of brushing fixes that. Oil goes where the brush cannot. No. 1 is the lighter of the two oils in the range. It conditions coat and skin, smooths and softens the hair, and adds a light shine rather than a heavy gloss. It detangles manes and tails without the tackiness that catches dust straight back out of the air. At breed shows it is used around the face and muzzle to bring out the detail there. Groomers work it into a daily routine, and it also gets used to help a horse through a spring shed. A little goes a long way, so put it on a cloth or your hands rather than pouring it onto the coat, and build up rather than starting heavy. For deeper conditioning after body clipping, the No. 2 Heavy Oil is the same idea in a richer form.
