Pharm-Vet MSM-Methyl Sulfonyl Methane 1.36 kg
A 1.36 kg pail of pure MSM — a straight sulphur supplement at a known dose, fed daily to working or aging horses.
Details
MSM, or methylsulfonylmethane, is an organic sulphur compound and one of the cheapest, most widely fed supplements in a barn. Sulphur is a component of connective tissue, cartilage, hoof and hair, and MSM is fed for general comfort in horses in work or carrying some age. This is the plain ingredient in a pail — no fillers, no blend, so you know exactly what the horse is getting. Feed daily at the label rate. MSM is water soluble and generally very well tolerated; surplus is excreted rather than accumulated, which is part of why it has such a long track record of being fed without incident. Some horses object to the taste at first, so introduce it gradually mixed into something palatable rather than dumping a full dose into a bare feed tub. The evidence base is modest. There is reasonable support for MSM in inflammation and comfort, less for dramatic claims, and individual response varies enough that the only real test is a fair trial on your own horse — six to eight weeks fed consistently, then an honest assessment. Because it is inexpensive, that trial does not cost much, which is a fair part of its appeal. If you are already feeding a combination joint product, check whether MSM is in it before adding this on top. Stacking is not dangerous here, but paying twice for the same ingredient is pointless. A lame horse still needs a veterinarian. MSM supports comfort; it does not diagnose or treat injury. Keep the pail sealed and dry — it clumps when it takes up moisture.
