Pharm Vet Vita B12 with folic acid crumbles 1.13kg
A 1.13 kg pail of vitamin B12 with folic acid crumbles, fed to horses in work or coming back into condition.
Details
Vitamin B12 with folic acid in a feed crumble. These two work together in red blood cell formation and are the pair usually reached for when a horse looks flat, is coming back into work, or is being asked for more than it has been giving. B12 also depends on cobalt, which the hindgut microbes need in order to make it — one reason a horse on poor forage or with disrupted gut function can come up short. Feed daily at the label rate in feed the horse cleans up. Both vitamins are water soluble, so surplus is largely excreted rather than stored, which makes this a low-risk supplement but also means it needs to be fed consistently rather than in occasional big doses. The realistic framing is that this supports a horse that is being worked, growing, or rebuilding. It is not a performance enhancer and it will not make a fit horse fitter. A horse that seems dull or unthrifty is far more often carrying a parasite burden, dealing with ulcers, needing its teeth done, or simply not getting enough calories than it is short on B12 — so run a fecal egg count, look at the teeth and count the calories before you conclude it is a vitamin problem. If a horse is genuinely anaemic, that is a veterinary diagnosis with a cause behind it, and the cause is what needs treating. The 1.13 kg pail suits one or two horses. Keep it sealed and dry; the crumbles cake if they take up humidity.
